Pregnancy care 2.0

1. positive pregnancy test

After you have registered via the website, the assistant will contact you by telephone. As a welcome gift, all our clients are offered a free early ultrasound around 8 weeks. In addition, we schedule an intake interview and you will receive an invitation for Meeting amstermam. During this online introduction, you will get to know our practice, and we will share information and tips for the best start to your pregnancy. This session will be led by one of our midwives.

2. free early ultrasound for clients | 8 weeks

As a welcome gift, we offer all our clients a free early ultrasound around 8 weeks. An experienced sonographer checks whether the heart is beating. If possible, we schedule this ultrasound during the intake interview.

3. intake interview (45 min) | 8/9 weeks

You and your partner will be welcomed by a midwife from your team. Prior to this appointment, you will fill in a questionnaire, so that there is ample time to get to know each other and answer all your questions. During the intake, you and the midwife will draw up a suitable care plan for the coming months.

4. termijnecho | rond 10/11 weken

At amstermam you get all your ultrasounds in your own trusted practice. Between 9 and 12 weeks we determine your gestational age by means of a term ultrasound. Based on your term of pregnancy, you will - if desired - also be placed in a Centering Pregnancy group, together with mothers in the same phase as your pregnancy.

5. NIPT | from 10 weeks

If desired, you can opt for a NIPT (non-invasive prenatal test). This test is a blood test and will not harm the baby. In a lab, it is examined whether there are indications of Down's, Edwards' or Patau's syndrome. During Meeting amstermam (which you have previously followed online) we share information about prenatal testing so that you can make an appropriate choice with the help of your midwife. 6. 13-weeks ultrasound (location West) | around 13 weeks

Between 12+3 and 14+3 weeks you can (if desired) have a 13-week ultrasound made (ETSEO). During this medical ultrasound, it is checked whether your child has any physical abnormalities. Costs of this are reimbursed by the insurance. Read more about it on our ultrasound page and in the 9-month plan.

7a. start Centering Pregnancy sessions | between 12-17 weeks

After your term ultrasound, the Centering Pregnancy meetings will start. We can offer you more time and attention during Centering Pregnancy than with traditional consultations. With every session you also get a 1-on-1 moment with the midwife. Together with (future) mothers with the same gestational age, you will meet about 10 times and you will receive many extras in addition to regular maternity care.

Session 1-4: every four weeks, 2 hours
Session 5-9 every two weeks, 2 hours

Session 10-14 if not given birth yet: weekly 1 hour

7b. or: regular pregnancy care

Do you prefer the standard maternity care? Then you have (apart from the ultrasounds)  7-10 contact moments of 20 minutes. These moments are around 17, 23/24, 27, 30, 33, 35, 37, 39-41 weeks.

We aim to provide a permanent midwife from your team for up to about 30 weeks. From 30 weeks we aim to meet the other midwives in the team.

8. 20-weken echo (locatie West) | tussen 19+0 en 20+0 weken

Tussen 19+0 en 20+0 weken kun je een 20-weken echo laten maken (SEO), niet eerder en niet later. Tijdens deze medische echo wordt de gezondheid van jullie kindje beoordeeld. Kosten hiervan worden vergoed door de verzekering. Meer informatie kun je vinden in het 9-month plan.

9. position ultrasound | between 34-36 weeks

During this ultrasound we check whether the baby is lying with the head or buttocks down. Costs of this are reimbursed by the insurance.

10. gathering session Centering Pregnancy | few weeks after delivery

After the birth of your baby, there is a final session with your Centering Pregnancy mother group. So lovely to see each other again with your babies!
