At amstermam midwives, you can schedule an early ultrasound from around 8 weeks This early ultrasound gives you your first glimpse of your baby, provides reassurance, and is performed by our own experienced ultrasound technicians at our practice in West and North Amsterdam.

Ultrasounds with care

All ultrasounds are carefully performed by an experienced sonographer in our atmospheric and warm practice.

We are certified to perform all medical ultrasounds and do this on the Voluson S10 Expert. We have contracts with every Dutch health insurer for all standard ultrasounds and ultrasounds on indication.
But you are also more than welcome if you want to admire your baby with a fun ultrasound.

An early ultrasound for everyone

What is an early ultrasound?

An early ultrasound is a medical ultrasound that usually between 7 and 10 weeks An early ultrasound is a medical ultrasound that is usually performed in early pregnancy. The purpose of this ultrasound is to:

  • check if the heartbeat is present
  • verify that the pregnancy is located in the uterus zit
  • determine if it is a twin pregnancy vast te stellen

Because your baby is still very small at this stage and located behind the pubic bone, we usually perform the early ultrasound internally (transvaginally). This way, we get the clearest and most reliable and clear images.

The first weeks of your pregnancy are often exciting and nerve-wracking. With an early ultrasound:

  • you quickly get clarity which brings peace of mind
  • you see your baby for the first time
  • you find out whether the pregnancy is locatedin the uterus bevindt
  • any potential twin or multiple pregnancy is detected in an early stage

Hoe verloopt een vroege echo?

  1. sign-up – Je maakt eenvoudig telefonisch een afspraak, stuur ons een mail of schrijf je in via de website.
  2. Intake – Rond 8 weken plannen we je intake bij de verloskundige en een vroege echo.
  3. De echo – Onze eigen echoscopiste voert de echo uit in onze praktijk in Amsterdam Noord of West.
  4. Uitleg en foto’s – Je kijkt live mee, krijgt 3-5 geprinte foto’s mee en je kunt alle beelden later terugkijken in de Zwanger! app.

We nemen alle tijd om de beelden rustig met je door te spreken. En als de echo onverhoopt slecht nieuws geeft, staan we meteen voor je klaar. Met persoonlijke begeleiding en vervolgstappen voor de komende weken.
