Treatment
Let us look at your complaint together. Where does it come from? As pelvic physiotherapists, we don't think anything is strange. So you can tell us everything. We take our time, which is why the intake takes an hour.
The pelvic physical therapist helps you learn to recognize, use, and relax the muscles around your pelvis. Sometimes special equipment is used. This equipment measures the activity of the pelvic floor muscles so you can see what you are (not) doing.
If needed, the pelvic physical therapist can give advice about posture, pelvic tension, toileting, eating and drinking habits, support devices such as a pelvic belt, and exercise. People can also see a pelvic physical therapist with questions about sex.
A pelvic physical therapist is qualified and trained to perform an internal exam. If you prefer not to have an internal exam, we can look at other ways to assess pelvic floor function.
Pelvic physiotherapy, like regular physiotherapy, is covered by supplementary insurance. The number of treatments covered depends on the amount of your supplementary insurance.
Only in the case of urine leakage, pelvic physiotherapy is reimbursed 9 times by the basic insurance, this is deducted from the (compulsory) deductible.
