The House of Balance

The House of Balance offers a pregnancy course focused on pregnancy yoga and childbirth preparation. The course combines effective breathing techniques and relaxation exercises, connecting with your baby, enjoyable yoga poses, and useful information about your pregnancy, delivery, and the time afterward. It also includes preparation for you and your (birthing) partner, so you can embark on this adventure together.

The pregnancy course consists of:

5 yoga classes with a specific theme, focusing on breathing, connection with your baby, and relaxation.
1 extended partner session of 3 hours, allowing you and your (birthing) partner to fully prepare for the delivery.
1 follow-up class with babies.
Access to the online learning environment.

Cost: €300 (covered by various health insurers)

Akriti

Chitra from Akriti – Pregnancy, Birth + Beyond has been teaching HypnoBirthing and other childbirth preparation courses for 14 years. Chitra is originally from South India but has been living outside her home country for two decades. She is a certified birth coach, hypnotherapist, HypnoBirthing practitioner, podcaster, and more. Passionate about women's health and birth rights, she has worked with many pregnant families in Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Utrecht, and Hilversum since 2010. She teaches her HypnoBirthing and ACCESS childbirth preparation courses at Amstermam’s Westerdokpoint.

Chitra has her own podcast, *Baby Ahoy*, featuring various birth stories from the Netherlands. You can listen to *Baby Ahoy* on Spotify, iTunes, and on her website.

I am very thankful for the treatment I received by Corinne, when I was over the due date. She approached me with an open heart, undivided attention, sincere warmth and a professional attitude. My partner was allowed to be at the session and there was no rush. Corinne explained every step of the process very clearly and only continued after mutual agreement. After the acupuncture session, Corinne even added a massage upon request, that put pressure on specific spots in the legs, ankles and feet that can naturally induce labour. The baby seemed to respond to her interventions, and the same evening I did have promising contractions. Will be back soon for a follow up, if still needed!
